Homes for Our Troops

One of our first military veterans our Foundation supported and celebrated is Mr. Timothy Birckhead of South Philadelphia. Timothy served in the U.S. Navy from 2000-2007. He was diagnosed with a physical disability which affects his sensory and motor nerves. Foundation board member Bradford Putt became aware of this courageous young man after seeing his appearance on ABC-TV’s “The View”. Timothy and his mother Gloria were surprised when the organization Home for Our Troops announced they were building him a specially-adapted, mortgage-free home in New Jersey. Every room in the house will be furnished by “The View”. President Culbert Harcum and Bradford Put were invited to Timothy’s Community Kick-Off Event at Masso’s Catering in Glassboro on a snowy and cold January morning. Here are pictures of Timothy and his family at our November 26th, 2016 fundraising event, where Timothy was our special guest. Also highlights from the Kick-Off Event are here with the Mayors of South Harrison and Harrison, New Jersey; Timothy McHale, president and CEO of Homes for Our Troops; and ABC-TV’s Sara Haines. Please check this page as we follow Timothy’s home adventure with support and a future Share the Love event honoring his service, strength and positive attitude.
